Trump Names Two Picks to Fight Illegal Immigration and Secure the Border

President-Elect Donald Trump is preparing to head back to the White House for the second time next month. He has this opportunity after getting the overwhelming support of the American people, who voted for him in droves over Kamala Harris on Election Day.

In the weeks since then, Trump has been working hard to put his administration together. He’s been choosing some incredible people who will help him make America great again.

Now, Trump has named two more people to his administration. He plans to have them assist him in cracking down on illegal immigration and securing the border.

From Daily Wire:
Trump said Rodney Scott would be the Customs and Border Protection commissioner, and Caleb Vitello would be the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He previously announced that former acting ICE Director Tom Homan would be his “border czar” and oversee mass deportation operations.

Scott, who has almost three decades of experience with Border Patrol, would be back in the same position he held during Trump’s first term. Under Trump, Scott implemented policies like Remain-in-Mexico, where asylum seekers would have to stop in the first available country, and Title 42, a measure to turn back illegal immigrants due to concerns about COVID.

Trump praised Scott as he named him to this role.

“As the Chief, he led over 22,000 personnel, and was responsible for securing the International Borders of the U.S. between the official ports of entry,” Trump said. “After retiring, Rodney has continued to educate politicians and the public about the importance of meaningful Border Security.”

Scott left the position during Joe Biden’s presidency. He later endorsed Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

“President Trump respected the experience of career border security professionals and listened to our advice,” Scott said in October. “When border security experts explained to President Trump how illegal immigration empowers the cartels to control who and what enters our home, he listened and acted.”

Vitello’s Role

Meanwhile, Trump revealed that Vitello will be the acting director of ICE. Vitello is currently ICE’s assistant director of the Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs. In this role, he helps with training, equipment, safety, and policy.

Vitello was previously the chief of staff for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations. In that role, he supervised all daily operations and communications.

“Caleb’s exceptional leadership, extensive experience, and commitment to ICE’s mission make him an excellent choice to implement my efforts to enhance the safety and security of American communities who have been victimized by illegal alien crime,” Trump said.

In Biden-Harris’ America, illegal immigration has gotten out of control. Indeed, millions of illegal aliens have flooded our borders thanks to their lax immigration and border policies.

In contrast, Trump has promised to crack down on illegal immigration from day one of his presidency. This undoubtedly was a huge factor in Americans picking him over a woke liberal like Harris.

We can’t wait to see how Scott and Vitello do in their respective roles. Let’s get this administration started and make America great again!
