American education is failing our children. The numbers don’t lie.
Core academic performance continues to plummet nationwide. Reading and math proficiency have reached crisis levels. Meanwhile, schools increasingly prioritize divisive ideologies over fundamental learning.
Parents have pleaded for change for years. Sadly, their concerns have fallen on deaf ears. I’ve watched as good parents were labeled “domestic terrorists” just for speaking up at school board meetings.
Until now.
President Donald Trump’s Department of Education has launched a public portal called “End DEI.” There, parents, students, teachers, and community members can report discriminatory practices in K-12 public schools.
From Breitbart News:
“The U.S. Department of Education launched a public portal on Thursday for parents, students, teachers, and communities to submit reports of sex and race-based discrimination in public K-12 schools. The portal is called the ‘End DEI’ portal and allows the submission of an email address, the name of a student’s school or school district, and a text box with 450-word limit for detailing concerning practices.”
The portal’s message is clear: “Schools should be focused on learning.” What a revolutionary concept, right?
This initiative represents a dramatic shift from previous administrations. For too long, parents who questioned divisive content in classrooms were dismissed or vilified.
Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, highlighted this frustration.
“For years, parents have been begging schools to focus on teaching their kids practical skills like reading, writing, and math, instead of pushing critical theory, rogue sex education and divisive ideologies—but their concerns have been brushed off, mocked, or shut down entirely,” Justice said.
Parents Finally Have a Voice
The “End DEI” portal (EndDEI.Ed.Gov) empowers families to report concerns directly to federal officials. The Department will use these submissions to identify potential areas for investigation.
Isn’t it about time parents had some real power in their children’s education? Why should bureaucrats and activists decide what values our kids learn?
This action follows President Trump’s executive orders on his first day in office aimed at ending DEI programs in the federal workforce and stopping radical indoctrination in K-12 schooling.
The Department of Education also recently sent letters to K-12 schools and universities warning them to remove diversity, equity, and inclusion policies or risk losing federal funding.
Not everyone supports these changes. The American Federation of Teachers filed a lawsuit against the Department of Education over the warning letter. No surprise there – the education establishment doesn’t surrender power easily.
The Real Cost of DEI in Education
The evidence of DEI’s negative impact on education is mounting. Parents Defending Education released an investigation showing the alarming spread of DEI policies across America’s schools.
Their research identified 610 districts across 46 states implementing DEI through policy, strategic plans, or practice. This affects over 21,000 schools and more than 13 million students.
The academic consequences are devastating. Approximately 70% of American K-12 students are not proficient at reading or math. Think about that – seven out of ten kids can’t read or do math at grade level, but they can recite the latest gender theory? You truly can’t make this stuff up.
While DEI advocates claim these programs help uplift marginalized communities, critics point to their failure to improve educational outcomes for any students.
The Trump administration’s actions represent a fundamental shift in priorities. Instead of focusing on divisive ideologies, schools must return to their core mission: educating children in essential skills and knowledge.
The Department has already removed over 2,300 webpages pushing what they described as “woke propaganda” from the previous administration.
This return to educational fundamentals aligns with what most parents want: schools that prepare children for success through academic excellence rather than ideological conformity.
Key Takeaways:
- The new “End DEI” portal gives parents direct access to report schools pushing ideology over education.
- Over 600 school districts have implemented DEI policies while 70% of students can’t read or do math proficiently.
- Trump’s Education Department is actively removing “woke propaganda” and restoring focus on academic excellence.
- Parents who were previously silenced now have a powerful ally in Washington to ensure quality education.
