Donald Trump has been the target of countless legal challenges from the left in recent years. The overall goal of them has clearly been to stop him from becoming president again. Despite the left’s best efforts, Trump has risen above all of this, and he’s heading back to the White House next month.
Now, Trump has scored a massive legal victory over the mainstream media. This is a truly historic win over the hateful, anti-Trump media machine. The victory will also hopefully force the mainstream media to think twice before making false claims about Trump in the future.
Trump has officially come out victorious in his defamation lawsuit against ABC News and veteran anchor George Stephanopoulos. Trump filed his lawsuit after Stephanopoulous, who was previously Bill Clinton’s White House communications director, falsely claimed that Trump had been found “liable for rape.” He made this claim nearly a dozen times while interviewing rape survivor Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) back in March.
From Daily Wire:
Court documents show that a settlement between Trump and ABC include the network paying $15 million to the president-elect as a charitable contribution to a “Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past,” Fox News reported. The network will also have to fork over $1 million for Trump’s attorney fees.Additionally, Stephanopoulos and ABC News will issue statements of “regret” about the anchor’s repeated lie about Trump, Fox noted. The statement reads as follows: “ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024.”
During the interview with Mace, Stephanopoulos said ten times that Trump was liable for rape, though a federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse against controversial journalist E. Jean Carroll.
Humiliation For Stephanopoulos
This was nothing short of humiliating for Stephanopoulos, who initially resisted this lawsuit. In a May interview with late-night host Stephen Colbert, he said that he would not be “cowed out of doing my job because of a threat.”
“Trump sued me because I used the word ‘rape,’ even though a judge said that’s in fact what did happen,” Stephanopoulos said at the time. “We filed a motion to dismiss.”
Contrary to what Stephanopoulos said, however, there is a clear difference between “rape” and “sexual abuse” under New York law.
Carroll’s claims against Trump have been called into question due to her own bizarre behavior. In a 2019 interview with CNN, Carroll outrageously eluded to rape being “sexy.”
“I wasn’t thrown on the ground and ravished,” Carroll said at the time. “Which, the word rape has so many sexual connotations. This was not — this was not sexual. It just, it hurt.”
“I think most people think of rape as being sexy. Think of the fantasies,” she added, causing CNN host Anderson Cooper to visibly panic and send the show to commercial.
Even a member of the anti-Trump liberal media establishment like Cooper couldn’t stand by Carroll on this one!

The outcome of Trump’s defamation lawsuit should serve as a warning shot to Stephanopoulos and the rest of the mainstream media. Indeed, it shows that their anti-Trump lies will no longer be tolerated. If they want to attack Trump, they’re going to need to get their facts straight first!
