During the four years that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been in power, they’ve allowed illegal immigration to get out of control. Thanks to their lax border policies, millions of illegal aliens have poured into this country.
Now that Donald Trump has won the presidential election, however, that is all about to change. Indeed, immigration played a huge role in Trump defeating Harris not only in the Electoral College but also in the popular vote.
Unlike Harris, Trump promised to make tackling illegal immigration a top priority from day one of his presidency. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke out on Sunday to make a bold prediction on the impact Trump’s presidency will immediately have on illegal immigration.
From Fox News:
“I expect we will once again enter into ‘remain in Mexico,’ and we are going to see – I’m going to make a prediction right now: We will see the numbers plummet of illegal immigration coming into this country,” Cruz said. “Not in a year, not in six months, but in January and February, because we will have a president who will vigorously enforce the law.”
Cruz went on to address Trump’s plans to use tariffs as leverage to encourage Mexico’s government to assist in cracking down on illegal immigration. Last month, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum told Trump that she is willing to assist his administration.
“I’ll tell you what hasn’t changed is the importance of leverage. And I got to say, you look at the threat of tariffs against Mexico and Canada. [It] immediately has produced action. We’ve seen the president of Mexico stand up and promise that she is going to work hand in hand with the President of the United States, President Trump, to secure the border,” Cruz said.
Boom!
Trump Meets With Trudeau
With much of the focus on the Mexican border, it’s easy to forget that there are also issues with America’s Canadian border. Thankfully, Trump has that covered as well!
Last week, Trump had a “very productive” meeting with Canada’s liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The two leaders met at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Trudeau made an unannounced visit to Mar-a-Lago last Friday. This came after Trump threatened to impose sweeping tariffs on Canadian products.
Since Canada and Mexico failed to crack down on the flow of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs into our country, Trump is threatening to impose 25% tariffs on both nations.
“We discussed many important topics that will require both countries to work together to address, like the fentanyl and drug crisis that has decimated so many lives as a result of illegal immigration, fair trade deals that do not jeopardize American workers and the massive trade deficit the U.S. has with Canada,” Trump said on Sunday.
“I made it very clear that the United States will no longer sit idly by as our citizens become victims to the scourge of this drug epidemic, caused mainly by the drug cartels, and fentanyl pouring in from China,” he continued. “Too much death and hardship!”
After years of Democrats like Biden and Harris putting America last, it’s refreshing to once again have a president who puts America first. In the end, we can’t wait to see what else Trump has planned to make America great again!
