November has been a truly terrible month for Democrats. Heading into Election Day, they were confident that they would win most of their races.
Unfortunately for them, however, they ended up losing big time. Not only did Republicans win the presidency and the Senate, they also won control of the House.
On Wednesday night, Republicans flipped yet another blue seat. Indeed, Nick Begich, the GOP candidate for Alaska’s at-large House seat, has officially come out victorious over incumbent Democratic Alaska Rep. Mary Peltola.
From The Daily Caller:
The AP called the race late Wednesday night, projecting that Begich will win with 48.4% of the vote compared to Peltola’s 46.4% share. Peltola conceded the race on Wednesday night, telling supporters via social media that she is rooting for Begich to succeed in his new role.Peltola entered Congress in 2022, when she won a special election following the death of Republican Alaska Rep. Don Young. Begich, meanwhile, is the grandson of former Republican Alaska Rep. Nick Begich, who represented Alaska in Congress until his death in a plane crash in 1972.
Several October polls sponsored by Begich and the National Republican Congressional Committee showed him leading Peltola by four or five percentage points, and Begich managed to win by a slightly smaller margin.
This is Alaska’s only House seat. Begich celebrated his victory by saying that while Alaska has great potential, “much work remains for Alaskans to fully realize that potential. I am committed to fighting for our jobs and economy, protecting our unique way of life, and ensuring that our voices are heard loud and clear in Washington.”
Begich went on to thank Peltola “for her service to the state and nation in what is an exceptionally challenging role during an exceptionally challenging moment in our national history.”
Alaska’s Republican Governor Responds
Alaska’s Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy responded to this win by saying that his administration “is eager to work with Congressman-elect Begich to incentivize private sector investment in Alaska.”
In this race, Begich and Peltola raised a combined $13 million. Peltola actually raised five times as much as Begich did, yet she was still unable to defeat him. This is reminiscent of her fellow Democrat Kamala Harris, who blew through $1 billion in donations and ended the presidential race $20 million in debt. While Donald Trump raised a fraction of that amount, he claims to have still had cash left over when the race ended.
It doesn’t get much more humiliating than that, folks!
This is yet another example of the red wave that has officially swept the nation. The fact that Republicans have won the presidency, the Senate, and the House is nothing short of a referendum on the entire Democratic Party. The American people have spoken, and they’ve shown that they’ve had enough of the left’s woke ways. It’s as simple as that!
Begich’s win is huge for the entire Republican Party, as it gives them even more control of the House. In the end, we can’t wait to see what the Republican-majority Congress can get done over the next few years!
