On Monday, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution that would ban transgender women from using female bathrooms in Congress. This came after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-DE) became the first openly transgender person to be elected to Congress.
“The sanctity of protecting women and standing up against the Left’s systematic erasure of biological women starts here in the nation’s Capitol,” Mace said at the time.
The next day, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R- SC) was asked if he supports Mace’s resolution. His answer could not have been more perfect. Indeed, it’s enough to make the minds of woke liberals everywhere explode!
From The Washington Examiner:
“Let me be unequivocally clear, a man is a man and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman,” Johnson told reporters. “That said, I also believe that’s what Scripture teaches, what I just said, but I also believe that we treat everybody with dignity … and I believe all those things at the same time, and I wanted to make that clear for everybody because there’s lots of questions, but that’s where I stand.”
Boom!
On Wednesday, Johnson doubled down by expressing his full support for restricting “single-sex facilities” in the Capitol, including restrooms, to “individuals of that biological sex.” This effectively bans McBride and anyone else who identifies as a transgender woman from using women’s bathrooms in the next Congress.
From NBC News:
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex,” Johnson said in the statement, noting that, “each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol.”He added, “Women deserve women’s only spaces.”
McBride responded on social media by agreeing to comply with the rules. Indeed, the Rep-elect doesn’t have much of a choice.
“I’m not here to fight about bathrooms,” McBride wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’m here to fight for Delawareans and to bring down costs facing families. Like all members, I will follow the rules as outlined by Speaker Johnson, even if I disagree with them.”
Transgenderism Is A Hot Button Topic
In recent years, transgenderism has become a hot-button topic in the United States. Transgender issues played a major role in the last election cycle, with Republicans frequently hammering Democrats with them.
Instead of taking a common sense approach, most Democrat candidates went full woke when it came to transgender issues. The bulk of Democrats were quick to support biological men who identify as transgender, both using female bathrooms and even participating in women’s sports.
This appears to have backfired on Democrats big time, as they lost the presidency, the Senate, and the House. This election can only be described as a referendum on the woke ways of the entire Democratic Party, with transgender issues being at the forefront of that.
We applaud Johnson for taking a stand for women everywhere by banning biological men from female congressional bathrooms. Women deserve their own spaces where they are free to use the bathroom without having to worry about a man being in their presence.
While it’s sad that we live in a time where this has become controversial, we’re glad to see that Congress is moving in the right direction!
