Kamala and Newsom Suffer Californian Defeat As Voters Vote for Prop 36

Things just keep getting worse for Kamala Harris.

Yesterday, Harris handily lost the presidential election to Donald Trump. She and her fellow Democrats had thought that she had this election in the bag. Instead, Harris couldn’t even win the popular vote.

As if that wasn’t enough, Harris has been handed another humiliating defeat at the hands of voters. This time, she has found herself in the doghouse along with California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.

From The New York Post:
California voters approved by a massive margin a ballot measure to more harshly punish certain crimes — with the initiative garnering a whopping 70.6% support with nearly 7.6 million ballots counted.

The outcome of the state’s Proposition 36 reflected a backlash to light penalties for shoplifting and drug-related crimes — and it passed despite opposition from Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Prop 36 authorizes felony charges for possession of drugs including fentanyl and for thefts under $950 if the offender has two prior drug or theft convictions, according to the official summary of its provisions. The nascent law creates a new category of crime called “treatment-mandated felony” that allows a person to have their drug conviction set aside if they complete rehab.

The radically liberal Newsom was strongly against this, saying, “Prop 36 takes us back to the 1980s, mass incarceration — it promotes a promise that can’t be delivered.”

Harris, a former California attorney general and San Francisco district attorney, is typically in lockstep with Newsom when it comes to this kind of thing. On Sunday, however, she refused to say whether or not she voted in favor of Prop 36 after revealing that she’d just filled in her mail-in-ballot.

“I am not going to talk about the vote on that because honestly, it’s the Sunday before the election, and I don’t intend to create an endorsement one way or another around it,” she said when asked about the proposition.

Rampant Crime In California

Thanks to radical liberal leaders like Newsom and Harris, the state of California has descended into crime-ridden chaos. In voting in favor of Prop 36, voters are sending the message to Democrats that they are sick and tired of rampant crime.

Of course, this is just one of many ways that voters showed that they are sick and tired of woke liberalism not only in California, but all over the country. Indeed, woke soft-on-crime policies have allowed crime to completely get out of control. Woke leftists like Harris and Newsom have given the impression that they prioritize criminals over law-abiding American citizens. This has endangered the lives of millions of Americans.

The American people deserve better than the kind of country Harris, Newsom, and their fellow Democrats have given them. That’s why despite her best efforts, Harris won’t be getting anywhere near the White House.

In contrast to Harris, Trump has made it clear that he will be tough on crime. He cares far more about keeping Americans safe than he does about helping out violent criminals. Trump is exactly the kind of person that we need in the White House, which is exactly why he’s heading back there come January!
