It’s been one month since Kamala Harris lost the presidential election handily to Donald Trump. In the lead-up to Election Day, Joe and Jill Biden publicly supported Harris.
Rumors have long swirled that behind the scenes, however, it’s a very different story. Jill has been rumored to despise Harris ever since the future vice president suggested that Joe is racist during a debate before the 2020 election.
While Joe let this go enough to make Harris his vice president, Jill is believed to hold a grudge against her to this day.
Meanwhile, Joe likely still feels like he was stabbed in the back when the Democrat establishment forced him out of the presidential race last summer. Within hours, his own vice president had been anointed as his replacement, with Harris all too happy to take her boss’s place.
On Sunday night, the Bidens reunited with Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, at the Kennedy Center Honors. There, it quickly became clear to all that there is no love lost between the Bidens and Harris.
From The New York Post:
Lame duck President Biden and first lady Jill Biden ignored a beaming Vice President Kamala Harris — who was applauding enthusiastically for the couple — as they entered the Kennedy Center Honors to a standing ovation, awkward video shows. The Bidens didn’t greet or acknowledge Harris as they entered the 47th Kennedy Center Honors, even as they took a spot standing right next to the vice president her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
Clips of the awkward snub quickly began circulating on X, with social media users remarking how the couple even avoided eye contact with Harris and Emhoff.

Social Media Responds
Indeed, social media users had a field day with this one. Some claimed that the Bidens must have “voted for President Trump.” Others questioned “what happened to the joy?,” which is what Harris’ failed campaign was based around.
“I love how awkward it is for them,” yet another internet user bluntly commented.
“Can you blame them[?] Best case scenario she convinced him she would win, worst case the[y] ousted him so she could run. Either way, they probably feel robbed,” one social media user commented on the Bidens.
It’s likely that the Bidens do feel betrayed by Harris and their fellow Democrats. Heading into this year, the Bidens were expecting to end 2024 by preparing for another four years in the White House, as they seemed strangely confident that Joe could beat Trump. Instead, they’re ending the year in humiliation as they prepare to move out of the White House after being cast out by their own party.
As for Harris, she’s undoubtedly still licking her wounds from the trouncing she got on Election Day. As she plans her next move, she likely isn’t eager to still be connected to the failed Biden administration. Instead, Harris would probably prefer for the public to forget that she was second-in-command throughout the chaos of Biden’s America.
In the end, the Bidens and Harris seem to despise each other just as most Americans despise all three of them. In the end, we can’t wait for all of them to go back to anonymity where they belong!
