Donald Trump came out victorious over Kamala Harris in the presidential election on Tuesday. He managed to do this despite Democrats spending years targeting him with multiple witch hunts.
Special Counsel Jack Smith has been one of the most anti-Trump figures, leading the charge in two federal investigations against Trump. Within hours of Trump’s victory, however, Smith learned his fate.
It seems that his efforts to take Trump down have officially failed miserably!
From The Daily Wire:
The Department of Justice is removing Jack Smith as special counsel and dropping his two federal investigations into President-Elect Donald Trump following Trump’s dominant win in Tuesday’s election.Fox News reported that the DOJ is removing Smith because they have acknowledged that they cannot prosecute a sitting president. Smith will be gone from his position before Trump is inaugurated on January 20, 2025, Fox News reported.
The network said that the move means that the DOJ is dropping its two criminal cases against Trump. The case involving Trump’s handling of classified material after he left office was already dismissed by a judge in Florida, but was being appealed by Smith. Smith’s other case surrounded Trump’s actions following the 2020 presidential election.

The Probes Into Trump Were Always Political
This effectively proves once and for all that Smith’s investigations against Trump were political in nature from the very beginning. The only goal of these probes was to interfere with democracy in the hopes of ensuring that Trump would not become president again. It’s as simple as that.
Sadly for Smith and his fellow liberals, however, he failed miserably in this endeavor. Indeed, Trump simply could not be stopped!
This comes weeks after Trump pledged to fire Smith “within two seconds” if he won this election.
“We got immunity at the Supreme Court. It’s so easy. I would fire him within two seconds,” Trump said of Smith on October 24. “He’ll be one of the first things addressed.”
Since the Department of Justice has a policy of not prosecuting a sitting president, however, Trump didn’t need to fire Smith. Instead, Smith was shown the door as soon as Trump won the election.
Now that’s what we call karma!
Smith had been appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in November of 2022 to investigate Trump and his allies. His job was to probe their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Smith was also tasked with looking into Trump’s alleged unlawful possession of highly classified documents he took from his time in the White House.
Last year, Trump was indicted by Smith on charges that he unlawfully retained classified documents. Smith also accused Trump of obstructing the government’s efforts to retrieve them. Two months later, Smith indicted Trump on four felony counts related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Trump pleaded not guilty to all of these charges.
It’s incredibly satisfying to see Smith get exactly what he deserves. Nice try, Democrats, but these witch hunts against Trump failed in a truly humiliating way!
Key Takeaways:
- Jack Smith fired after Trump wins the election.
- Smith had been investigating Trump for years.
- DOJ has a policy against prosecuting a sitting president.
