Michelle Obama has launched a new podcast with her brother Craig Robinson. The show, titled “IMO” (In My Opinion), features the former First Lady discussing personal topics with her only sibling.
The podcast premiered on Wednesday and has already released its first two episodes. Guests will include celebrities like Tyler Perry, Seth Rogen, and Issa Rae.
Craig, the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, appears to have a close relationship with his sister.
But beneath the surface of this new media venture lies troubling revelations about the former First Couple’s relationship. Isn’t it interesting how the truth eventually comes out? Michelle made several comments hinting at marriage difficulties during her years in the White House. This comes amidst rumors that Barack and Michelle Obama could be headed for divorce.
“Being married to the president of the United States [is a] thing that that none of us kind of banked on. We knew Barack was smart and ambitious, but, you know…” she said.
Michelle admitted she never wanted her husband to run for the highest office. So much for the supportive political spouse narrative we’ve been fed for years. It was her brother, she claimed, who convinced her to support Barack’s political ambitions.
“You talked me into supporting his run. He was smart enough to know that he needed to come to you and sell you on the idea. Because I was definitely like, no, no way,” she told Craig during the podcast.
Behind the Perfect Image
The former First Lady also confessed to being irritated by Barack’s lack of punctuality early in their relationship.
“Barack had to adjust to what on time was… you know, I’ve got this husband who, when it’s time to leave, he’s getting up and going to the bathroom,” she complained.
Her frustrations didn’t stop there.
In the second episode, Michelle grumbled that Barack doesn’t have deep enough conversations with his golf buddies and doesn’t “fully understand” the complexities of emotional female friendships.
Perhaps most telling was Michelle’s admission that she wouldn’t have been able to “get through” her eight years in the White House without her “big brother” – not her husband. What does it say about a marriage when you need your brother, not your spouse, to get through tough times?
I’ve always wondered about the real story behind those picture-perfect White House photos. These revelations come amid ongoing speculation about trouble in the Obamas’ marriage. The couple hasn’t been seen together publicly for months, despite efforts to dampen rumors with carefully crafted Valentine’s Day social media posts.

The Growing Distance
Craig Robinson’s own discussion of divorce during the podcast adds another layer of intrigue. He spoke about his split from his first wife, Janis, and how he initially kept his marital problems from Michelle.
“When I was going through my first… my only divorce, and I didn’t tell you about it,” Craig recounted on the podcast. Michelle responded that she had noticed “something was going on” and “there was a disconnect” between them at the time.
The parallels between Craig’s past situation and the current Obama rumors are difficult to ignore. While Barack Obama attempted to quash speculation by posting a Valentine’s Day selfie with Michelle, many observers note the couple’s increasingly separate lives. Remember when the media gushed over their “perfect” relationship? Yeah, about that…
Barack has been spotted attending sporting events alone, while Michelle focuses on her various media projects. Call me skeptical, but those Valentine’s Day posts seemed more like damage control than genuine affection. Their decision to pursue separate endeavors has only fueled speculation about the state of their relationship.

What This Means for America
The contrast between the Obamas’ carefully cultivated public image and these new revelations highlights a pattern familiar to conservative observers. For years, the mainstream media portrayed the Obamas as the ideal American couple while scrutinizing conservative political families with much greater intensity.
How many other “perfect” liberal political couples are just keeping up appearances? Wouldn’t the media be all over this if it were a conservative political family?
The timing of these revelations is particularly interesting as speculation continues about Michelle Obama’s political future. Despite her professed dislike for politics, some Democrats still view her as a potential candidate for future elections. Will they still stick by her if she divorces their beloved Barack Obama? Only time will tell.
As conservative Americans have long understood, traditional family values matter more than political ambitions. The Obamas’ situation serves as a reminder that what politicians present to the public often differs significantly from what happens behind closed doors.
