The Democratic Party has descended into chaos in the weeks since Kamala Harris lost the presidential election to Donald Trump. Heading into Election Day, the Democrat establishment that has run the party since the days of Barack Obama pushed the narrative to their own voters that there was no way Harris could lose.
That’s why it came as a shock to so many Democrats that Harris lost not only in the Electoral College but also the popular vote. In the weeks since then, a “knife fight” has ensued among Democrats as different factions bitterly fight for control of the party.
Whatever side comes out on top will undoubtedly decide what direction the party moves going forward. Even amidst this bitter battle, however, there is one group of Democrats that all other factions are now unified against. Indeed, this group of once-powerful Democrats is likely in for some major changes moving forward.

The battle lines are now drawn between West Coast liberals, Bernie Sanders-socialists and moderate technocrats in the Midwest, who insist the party has completely lost touch with the average American voter.But first, there is one thing that all sides seemingly agree on: The current political establishment must be chased out of national politics for good. A reckoning is coming.
‘The people that are responsible for this s**tshow are the Obama people. They’re just grifters,’ a well-connected Democratic donor exclusively told Daily Mail. He singled out Jen O’Malley Dillon, who went from Biden 2024 campaign chair to serve in the same role for Harris’s camp, and David Plouffe, an ex-Obama 2008 campaign manager turned top Kamala adviser.
Major Democrat donors were left enraged when Plouffe admitted after the election that internal campaign polling never actually had Harris ahead of Trump. They kept this quiet amidst public surveys that showed her ahead.
“[Polls] came out in late September, early October, showing us with leads that we never saw,” Plouffe admitted at the end of last month.
One major donor lamented that the Harris team often portrayed her as being in a far better position in this race than she ever actually was.
“They lied to us,” said one donor. “It’s just a circus of lies.”
Democrat Establishment Betrayed Donors And Voters
The Democrat establishment that supported Harris also showed what little respect they had for their own donors when her campaign blew through $1.5 billion in donations. In fact, Harris ended the race with $20 million in debt.
“$900,000 to put her face on The Sphere in Las Vegas! The ego!” lamented Democrat mega-donor John Morgan, citing one example of wasteful spending by the Harris campaign.
Of course, the Democrat establishment was also showing what little regard it had for its own voters from the moment Harris entered the race.
Remember, the Democrat establishment is the one that anointed Harris as Joe Biden’s replacement within hours of him dropping out of the race back in July. They never gave their voters a say by holding a primary to find his replacement. Instead, they chose Harris themselves.
In the end, the Democrat establishment, also known as “the Obama people,” who have controlled their party for years, only have themselves to blame for the position they’re in now. Wherever this party is headed, it’s likely that the “Democrat establishment” will likely have no say in it.
